Participants will learn the fundamentals of small boat sailing, including steering and handling sails, boat rigging, and knot tying. Safe boating principles and fundamentals regarding wind patterns will also be discussed.

Learn to Sail participants are eligible for a 20 % discount on a Sailing Pavilion season pass. An automatic 20% discount will be applied after you have registered for a Learn to Sail class during the 2026 season. Please note that this discounted pass will be cancelled if you cancel your class registration.

In order to take a Learn to Sail, participants must sign a swim waiver attesting to swimming ability which will be emailed ahead of the first class.

Full refunds are only granted for cancelled classes, documented medical conditions, and withdrawal requests made at least one week before the class start date. No refunds will be given to participants who withdraw from courses within 6 days of or after the scheduled start date. Refunds are not issued for classes that are not attended.
