Description:
Join fellow BU faculty and staff for a scenic day hike to the summit of Mt. Israel in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. The trail offers a gradual climb through mixed forest before opening up to sweeping views of the Sandwich Range. This trip is a great opportunity to connect with colleagues outside the classroom while enjoying the fresh mountain air.
Clothing and equipment can be provided by BU Outdoor Programs upon request. Roundtrip transportation is provided from the BU Fitness and Recreation Center to the trip location.

Spend the day exploring the charm of Massachusetts’ North Shore in the wintertime. We’ll start off by sledding down some epic hills and exploring Plum Island, home to some beautiful New England beaches and a wildlife refuge. We will end the day in a cozy, local cafe before heading back to the city.

Join us for an intermediate hike to the summit of Mt. Pierce, a peak in the Southern Presidentials and part of the New Hampshire 4000ers. Mt. Pierce is a popular winter hike and boasts fantastic views of the Presidential Range as well as other peaks in White Mountain National Forest. The final stretch of the trail is above treeline, so a summit view will depend on the conditions.

Utah Spring Break

Looking for an adventure packed Spring Break trip this year? Our 2nd annual multi-day, multi-sport adventure will be offered in Moab, UT, home of the expansive Arches national park and Dead Horse Point State Park.
This trip will include activities like rafting, hiking, and a day to choose your own adventure in some of the most beautiful landscapes this country has to offer. During the choose your own adventure day you have the option to choose between a canyoneering guided trip or jeep tour (both at an additional cost below) or explore the day in downtown Moab. Although activities do not require prior experience, an adventurous spirit is required as many of them can be physically and mentally challenging. Clothing and equipment can be provided by BU Outdoor Programs as needed.
Airfare is not included in the price of this trip. Participants are responsible for making it to SLC International Airport by 1pm on March 8, 2026. Transportation will be provided from SLC International Airport to Moab, UT at the start of the trip and back to SLC International Airport from Moab at the end of the trip.

If you would like to add on a guided adventure during the choose your own adventure day, you must register for this activity first. Once you are registered, you can select the Utah Optional Add On activity below, select your activity of choice in the questionnaire, and complete your purchase.
A $400 deposit is due upon registration (a $50 portion of this deposit is non-refundable) and final payment is due on January 30th. After adding the item to your cart, click "proceed to checkout" where you will find the option of paying the minimum deposit or paying up to the full amount.

Description:
Join us for a hike to a lesser-known but awesome summit, Kearsarge North. Just outside of North Conway, Kearsarge North boasts sweeping views of the White Mountains and even into Maine. Make sure to climb the fire tower to see the Presidentials and other northern peaks! After the hike, we’ll stop in North Conway for a chance to warm up and refuel at Frontside Coffee Roasters, Cheese Louise, Metropolitan Coffee House, among other options.

Prior backpacking experience required.
This two-day guided trip will take you backpacking along the Monadnock- Sunapee Greenway, a route that connects Mt. Monadnock and Mt. Sunapee. We will tackle the northern half between the town of Washington, NH and Mt. Sunapee. The trail is a hidden gem in the northeast and offers rolling terrain, fine viewpoints, and established campsites.

Come join our outdoor climbing trip to Red Rocks in Gloucester, MA. Red Rocks offers a mix of bouldering, trad, sport, and top rope climbing. For this trip, we will be spending our time exploring some of the 75 top rope routes that lie within. Going on this trip will allow you to test your climbing skills outdoor on real rocks, enjoy some time in nature, and socialize with your fellow participants.

Join us for a hike to Mt. Moosilauke, a towering giant in the southwestern corner of White Mountain National Forest! Moosilauke is one of New Hampshire’s 48 4000ers, and it offers excellent views of the White Mountains to the north and east as well as Vermont’s Green Mountains to the west. Moosilauke has many different routes, and our exact itinerary will depend on seasonal road access as well as trail conditions.

Prerequisites:
Experience and proficiency in backpacking required as well as strong physical fitness.
This three-day adventure takes you to one of the northeast's premier routes: the Pemi Loop. Expect long mileage (>8 miles per day), significant elevation gain (>3000’ gain/day), and potentially challenging weather conditions as we traverse the Bonds and Franconia Ridge. The route is about 30 miles in length, features more than 10,000' of climbing, and summits 8 4000ers. This trip is ideal for experienced backpackers ready to push their limits while enjoying breathtaking alpine views.

This trip will leave at 9am on Tuesday; you must be able to leave at 9am on Tuesday from FitRec.
