Aerial Dance Silks Skills - 212524

This class will be taught by Molly Baechtold.

No prior experience is needed.

Learn to climb, swing, drop, flip, spin, and perform using two vertical lengths of very strong, Aerial Silk material suspended from the ceiling. Work to improve your grip strength, coordination, and flexibility and develop stronger shoulders and abdominals while performing climbs, inversions, holds, and rotations on the silks. Wear comfortable, tight-fitting clothing (tights or leggings, no wide-bottom pants) and make sure that your stomach, the backs of the knees, and armpits are covered. All levels are welcome, and some level of core and leg strength is beneficial.

Required Attire:

• Form fitted clothing required (dance, aerobic or bike wear); supportive undergarments (i.e.,
sports bras, athletic supporters) recommended to ensure comfort and ease - individuals can
determine best options for their body and can consult instructors with any questions.
• Please, no gum or dangerous jewelry.
• Hair secured away from face.
• NO STREET SHOES ALLOWED on dance studio floors or risers at any time. Leave in cubbies.
• Clean sneakers, exclusively designed for studio use only are allowed.

Note: We are under no obligation to accommodate all students for make-up classes or provide a refund for missed classes. We will try to assist students who have missed class due to special circumstances.

You must maintain your membership throughout the length of the class in order to pay the member fee. If your membership changes during the series, you will be asked to pay the remainder of the non-member fee.

Refunds will only be provided if requested 7 days before the listed start date of the class or due to a medical situation in which medical documentation is required.

Aerial Silks, Intermediate - 212525

This class will be taught by Marion Meirlaen.

Prerequisite: At least one full year of silks and the ability to invert from a climb.

For aerialists already proficient with silks - work on further developing skills from aerial silks skills classes. Students should be comfortable inverting in the air (both straddle inversions and knee hooks) and have experience confidently doing a few different kinds of drops. Students should have at least one full year of aerial experience. This will be a faster-paced class in terms of skill progression and complexity.

• Form fitted clothing required (dance, aerobic or bike wear); supportive undergarments (i.e.,
sports bras, athletic supporters) recommended to ensure comfort and ease - individuals can
determine best options for their body and can consult instructors with any questions.
• Please, no gum or dangerous jewelry.
• Hair secured away from face.
• NO STREET SHOES ALLOWED on dance studio floors or risers at any time. Leave in cubbies.
• Clean sneakers, exclusively designed for studio use only are allowed.

Aerial Apparatus Choreography - 212527

This class will be taught by Molly Baechtold.

Prerequisite: At least one semester of Aerial Silks Skills or Aerial Silks Intermediate.

This class is an opportunity to create your own work on Silks or Lyra. Class structure will include warm up, exercises to develop one’s choreographic toolkit, and a combination of choreographic investigations and practices. All class participants will choreograph either a solo or a group piece in collaboration with others in the class with guidance and mentorship from the instructor, followed by feedback sessions from the group.

sports bras, athletic supporters) recommended to ensure comfort and ease - individuals can
determine best options for their body and can consult instructors with any questions.

Hoop and Trapeze - 212533

This class will be taught by Hannah Beck.

No prior experience is needed.

New to aerial dance? Learn the foundations for good technique on lyra/aerial hoop and trapeze. Gain strength, coordination, balance and flexibility while building new skills on each apparatus. Class begins with a thorough warmup before moving to basic moves and sequencing on each apparatus. We place emphasis on technique and strength in each move to create confidence and grace in the air. Wear comfortable, tight-fitting clothing (tights or leggings, no wide-bottom pants) and make sure that your stomach, the backs of the knees, and armpits are covered.

Heels Dance - 212780

This class will be taught by Jossie Coleman.

Prerequisite: Students should have some dance experience in order to register for this class.
This class is designed to promote self-esteem through a fun exciting sassy and sexy hip hop and jazz fusion dance class. This class will focus on improving technique in Hip Hop and Jazz Dance, choreography, and building confidence. Some experience in dance required. All genders welcome! Bring both sneakers and heels. Heels are not required. You can wear sneakers. Class will include warm up, stretching, crossings combinations, and end with cool down and stretching.
