Advanced Swim Drop-In
This course is designed for intermediate and advanced swimmers who want to improve their fitness and technique through workouts and drills. This class will focus on applying the basics of fitness swimming, including technique drills, flipturns, diving, reading a pace clock, interval training, and creating personalized workouts. Instructors will critique students’ strokes and offer individualized feedback. Students will be taught starts and efficient turning styles if these skills are not already mastered. This class takes place in our Competition Pool.
Weekly Schedule:
Week1: Front crawl, front crawl flip turn progressions, and Lap Swimming 101.
Week 2: Backstroke and backstroke flip turn progressions.
Week 3: Breaststroke, breaststroke starts, and open turns.

Week 4: Butterfly and open turns.
Week 5: IMs (Individual Medleys) and diving progression.
Week 6: How to create your own swim set/workout, and continue working on diving progression and mastering flipturns.
Prerequisites:
Graduate of Intermediate
OR
Swim front crawl 100 yards, changing direction and position of travel as necessary using an efficient flip turn or open turn. Then, swim backstroke for 50 yards with an efficient backstroke turn
Swim breaststroke 50 yards, change direction of travel using an efficient open turn as necessary, and then swim butterfly for 25 yards
Submerge underwater and swim 5 body lengths underwater comfortably, return to the surface, then exit the water.
