Beginning Swim II-Progressive Swim
This course is designed for swimmers who have some experience with swimming and feel comfortable in shallow water. Instruction will focus on improving stroke technique for advanced beginners and learning skills required for lap swimming, including open turns and starts off the wall. Skills and concepts needed to stay safe in and around water, and to help yourself and/or others in an aquatic emergency, will be covered. Skills to be covered include: floating, breath control, kicking, front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, comfort in the deep end of the Competition Pool (8’), and trading water. This class starts in our Recreational Pool and moves to our Competition Pool.
Prerequisites:
Graduate of Beginner I
OR
Comfortability in shallow water, Ability to swim 20 yards of any stroke, float, fully submerge underwater, and tread water

A swim cap and goggles are strongly suggested. Both are available for purchase at our Pro Shop.
