Family Climbing Class (3 week session)
Family Climbing Class (3 week session)
Our Family Climbing Class allows children ages 5-12 to experience climbing with an instructor while preparing guardians to become effective climbing partners. Through this class, guardians will learn all the skills necessary to top rope belay their children. Parental and guardian instruction will include tying in, belay technique, climbing communication, fundamental climbing techniques, and safety procedures for rock climbing. While the guardians are busy learning to belay, their children will be supervised by our Climbing Wall Attendants as they climb, giving them the opportunity to become comfortable with heights and climbing. Guardians and children will then have the chance to climb together under BU Climbing Staff supervision to practice and develop these new skills.
Climbing equipment such as climbing shoes, harnesses, and belay devices will be provided!
This is a 3-week class. Class sessions will be on Saturdays from 2 PM - 3 PM. Please make sure you can attend all three sessions before registering.
