Description: This overnight winter adventure takes you to Grey Knob Hut on the slopes of Mount Adams, where you'll experience the challenges and rewards of winter backcountry travel. Expect to carry a full winter pack over rugged, snow-covered terrain while navigating cold temperatures and potentially severe winter weather. We'll spend the night at the Randolph Mountain Club's Grey Knob cabin, providing a rustic backcountry shelter in the heart of the Northern Presidentials. This trip is ideal for experienced winter hikers and backpackers looking to build their cold-weather skills while exploring one of New Hampshire's most iconic mountain regions. Please note that itinerary changes may be necessary due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Clothing and equipment can be provided by BU Outdoor Programs upon request. Roundtrip transportation is provided from the BU Fitness and Recreation Center to the trip location.
Since this is an overnight trip, your attendance will be required at a pre-trip meeting with trip leaders to discuss additional details including the itinerary, gear, and meals. The meeting will be held about 2 weeks before the trip’s departure. An email will be sent providing further details on the exact date and time. If you have any specific questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at buop@bu.edu!
