Description: Join us for a day exploring the natural beauty and historic charm of Newport, Rhode Island! Our trip includes time to experience the iconic Cliff Walk, where you'll enjoy breathtaking ocean views, dramatic coastal scenery, and the unique opportunity to walk alongside Newport's famous Gilded Age mansions. We'll also visit the grounds of Rough Point, the former estate of Doris Duke, where you can explore the beautiful oceanfront property and gardens at your own pace. Participants who would like to tour the interior of Rough Point may do so as an optional add-on; however, admission to the mansion is not included in the trip fee and must be purchased separately. Please note that itinerary changes may be necessary due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Clothing and equipment can be provided by BU Outdoor Programs upon request. Roundtrip transportation is provided from the BU Fitness and Recreation Center to the trip location.
