Prerequisite: No prior experience is required.
This course is designed as an introduction to the Latin Style of Ballroom dancing. Students who have had little or no instruction in this style of dance should begin their instruction here. The course is also in-depth enough for students who may have taken previous Latin Style Ballroom classes for the purpose of building confidence and gaining additional dance experience with a partner. Typically, two dances per semester are introduced on a rotating basis: Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha Cha, Rhumba, and/or Argentine Tango. Students will have the opportunity to learn the skills of both leader and follower.
Instructor: Holly Hatleberg
Age Requirement: Students must be at least 17 years old or receive permission from the instructor prior to registration. Please email budance@bu.edu for more information.
Make-Ups & Missed Classes: We are under no obligation to accommodate all students for make-up classes or provide refunds for missed classes. We will make every effort to assist students who miss class due to special circumstances.
Membership: You must maintain your membership for the entire length of the class series in order to receive the member rate. If your membership changes during the series, you will be responsible for paying the remaining balance at the non-member rate.
Refund Policy: Refunds will only be provided if requested at least 7 days before the listed start date of the class, or in the case of a medical situation for which medical documentation is required.
University Closures: There will be no classes held on Indigenous Peoples’ Day (10/12) or during the University’s Thanksgiving Recess (11/25–11/27).
