212528 - Aerial Lyra and Trapeze

Crosslisted with Aerial Lyra and Trapeze for Teens:
11-week session. Round out your aerial dance skills or learn something brand new with aerial lyra, also known as aerial hoop. In this exhilarating class, students will learn to climb, swing, spin, and do various skills on a steel hoop suspended from the ceiling, developing strength, flexibility, coordination, and artistic technique. This class is for students who have some aerial dance (or comparable) experience but are new to or have minimal experience on lyra. Students should be able to comfortably hold their full body weight hanging from a bar and safely come to sitting in the hoop without physical assistance from the instructor.

Note: We are under no obligation to accommodate all students for make-up classes or provide a refund for missed classes. We will try to assist students who have missed class due special circumstances.

Below are a few facts that captains/teams should consider prior to registering for Broomball:

    1. Due to the sporadic nature of available ice time, the season for Broomball will mostly be played on weekends and sometimes late into the evening. Because of this, individual team schedules will not be as regular as you might have become accustomed to if youíve played in one of our other sports. Schedules were made with the intent of being overall balanced in regards to game times and dates.

    2. Also due to the limited amount of ice, the playoffs for Ice Broomball run right up until the final day of classes for the spring semester. We will discuss playoffs more in our next bullet point below, but please be aware that should your team continue to advance through the playoff bracket, the need for you to juggle your busy end of the year academics with your extra-curricular activities will become more evident.

    3. Schedules for Broomball this season will be premade prior to registration. Therefore, please indicate on the roster your top 5 schedules that your team would like to have and the 5 schedules that would not work for your team. Schedules can be found on the Broomball webpage.

    4. Playoffs for Broomball will take place May 1-3. The bracket is available for viewing on the schedule page.

Please email IMSports@bu.edu with any questions or concerns. We hope to see you out there!
