Literally, Â"eight limbed yoga,Â" Ashtanga yoga is similar to Vinyasa in that breath and movement are connected. However, in Ashtanga yoga, participants move through a precise series of postures, repeating the series until mastered, and then moving on to the next series. Each semester, class will begin with the Primary series, which focuses on detoxifying and aligning the body. If possible based on the participants, the class will then move to subsequent series.
