This four-hour class is for those currently certified in Healthcare Provider CPR or the equivalent. The class consists of a review of all adult, child, and infant CPR skills. Those who pass the written and practical exam receive a new two-year certification in Healthcare Provider CPR. Class fee does not include required text and resuscitation mask.
A course that prepares students to take the written and practical EMT exams issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the National Registry of EMTs. Students learn the essentials of pre-hospital emergency care. The course includes lecture, lab and ambulance and hospital observation time. There are no prerequisites but 100% attendance is mandatory. Those who pass written and practical exams will be eligible to test for their EMT certification. This class meets on select Saturdays and Sundays. Class fee includes required textbooks, materials, lab and certification fees and CPR training.
This course consists of lectures given online by an instructor teaching in real time. Labs are held on select days, in person at Boston University. Ambulance and hospital observations are arranged with local companies and hospitals. Students must have a computer with working webcam, speakers and microphone and reliable access to internet. This course prepares students to take the written and practical EMT exams issued by the Massachusetts Dept. of Public Health and the National Registry of EMTs. This online course will start with a brief didactic review of signs and symptoms of allergic reactions. In addition, updated Massachusetts protocols regarding the use of epinephrine for severe pediatric respiratory distress will also be discussed. Note: This course is presented as a virtual instructor lead training. Students will login to an online classroom at the time the class occurs. Students will be sent directions to access the online classroom on the day the class is scheduled.OEMS approved for 2 hours of continuing education.
This course will begin with a didactic review of the state protocol, with a focus on immobilization. Furthermore, safe moving practices for the SMR immobilized patient will be discussed. We will then will move onto practical scenarios to apply the skills.OEMS approved for 2 hours of continuing education.

Students will learn how to perform the lifesaving skills used in respiratory and cardiac emergencies as well as basic treatments for a variety of injuries and illnesses. Topics include bandaging, splinting, wound care, and CPR/AED use for adults, children and infants. Topics will be covered in lecture and reinforced through practice. Those who pass will be certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED for two years.
This course trains individuals in the skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care in pet emergencies. CPR and first aid skills for dogs and cats are emphasized through lectures, readings, and video, and then reinforced through hands-on practice on manikins. Topics include but are not limited to choking, medical emergencies, and care for injuries. Upon completion of this course students will be certified in Pet First Aid/CPR through ECSI for two years. Class fee includes required textbook and materials.
In this course students learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants using a resuscitation mask, bag-valve mask, and automatic external defibrillator as well as more advanced techniques for special rescue situations. Those who pass a written and practical exam become certified in Healthcare Provider CPR through ECSI for two years. Class fee includes required textbook.
This ourse prepares students to manage most medical emergencies including but not limited to: respiratory and cardiac emergencies, spinal and head injuries, poisoning and overdose, shock, trauma, sudden illness, childbirth, and more. Students who attend all class sessions and pass both written and practical skill course requirements earn a two-year certification in First Responder. This class fulfills the first responder training requirement mandated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Class fee includes required text.
Prereq.: Healthcare Provider CPR and First Aid Certification. This class certifies individuals to teach Adult, Child, and Infant CPR with AED, Healthcare Provider CPR as well as Basic First Aid for the Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI). Class fee includes required textbooks and materials.
This program meets the National Core Competency Requirements for recertification at the National Registry EMT, EMT-Basic, and MA EMT-Basic level. This course also meets the requirements for the National Registry EMT-Basic to EMT transition course. It is a 20-hour course. The course covers topics including, but not limited to: airway management, respiratory emergencies, cardiovascular emergencies, trauma assessment and skills, medical assessment and skills, and EMS operations.
